Absrtact: This paper expounds the structure and use of carpets, and makes a detailed description of the maintenance and cleaning of carpets in the process of use.
Key words: carpet decoration, maintenance and cleaning
Carpet is a kind of high-grade decorative base material. At present, it is widely laid in commerce, office and exhibition. According to statistics, in modern hotel office buildings, carpet laying accounts for more than 60% of the total area. Nowadays, with the improvement of people's living standard, more and more families are decorating. Among the numerous floor decoration materials, carpets are used more and more in people's decoration because of their graceful and luxurious appearance, comfortable feet, moisture resistance and many other advantages. But in people's use, there are some shortcomings of carpets. It's a headache, such as carpet is dirty and not easy to clean, not easy to collect, easy to fade, not compressive and easy to leave marks, etc. Here we provide some cleaning methods:
1. Carpet Selection
When choosing carpets, the size specifications should be in accordance with the ground dimensions to be laid. The color and performance are suitable for use.
For example, stain-resistant and wear-resistant carpets should be selected for the passageway, and high-grade chemical fiber carpets or wool carpets with soft texture and gorgeous appearance should be selected for the living room. Generally speaking, the quality of carpet is greatly influenced by the type of textile fibers used, the quantity and density of carpet pile and the height of pile pile. Silk and wool have the best comprehensive properties. High-pile carpets are soft but not easy to clean. In addition, high-quality carpet blanket surface is smooth, the blanket body is thin and even, after gently pressing, it can immediately restore its original state, blanket back without wear, if there is a backing, it should be firmly bonded with the blanket back, and there is no release phenomenon. Carpet selection should also pay attention to whether the price is reasonable, hand-made wool knitted carpet is expensive, chemical fiber needle-punched carpet is cheap.
2. Carpet structure
The first layer: face screen, usually made of natural and artificial fibers, has a loose and soft surface.
The second layer: supporting layer, usually made of fibers, plays a supporting role to improve the stability of carpets and durability of the surface yarn and specific layer materials.
The third layer: auxiliary bracket, generally made of hemp or fibre, with a solid adhesive bracket to the whole carpet tissue.
Cushion layer: generally plastic porous structure, its role is to use carpets and ground isolation, increase air permeability and elasticity.
3. Problems needing attention in carpet use
(1) It is a normal phenomenon that slightly fluffy hair will appear in the initial use of the new velveted carpet.
(2) Carpet surface should be guarded against sharp scratches and cigarette burns.
(3) Carpets are mostly moth-proof when they leave the factory. There is no need to place insect-proof agents, which will do harm to carpets and human body.
(4) The carpet smears should be cleaned in time, which will be difficult to remove for a long time.
(5) After a period of carpet laying, a large number of bacteria and an organism called acaris will multiply on it, which directly endangers human health. Therefore, it should be cleaned and disinfected regularly for two to three months.
(6) In order not to bring dust into the carpet area, dust-removal blanket mats should be installed at the entrance.
In addition, carpets may produce chemical stains or fade after they are exposed to chemicals. Therefore, carpets should not be contaminated with commonly used chemicals, such as strong detergents and skin care products. In addition, carpets should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, otherwise they will fade.
Carpets need to be cleaned regularly, because the dust accumulated in the carpet will cause wear and tear to the fibers, and make the color of the carpet grey. In stairs, halls, corridors and places where frequent walking, the carpet should be cleaned two to three times a week, and the bedroom should also be cleaned at least once a week.
4. Carpet maintenance
After the carpet is laid, it must be cleaned regularly in order to maintain its beauty and reduce wear and tear in use. There are two main types of dirt on carpet, one is dust and other particulate matter, the other is dirt and grease stain and other chemical substances. The former can be solved by regular vacuum or cleaning, while the latter can be solved by chemical solution and professional guidance. If the method is improper and the stain is diffused, caution must be taken.
(1) Rug stains
A. Distribution of stains and dirt on carpet level
The multi-layer structure of carpet makes it easy to bury stains and dirt.
The stain is not only on the carpet surface, but also goes deep into the intertwined supporting layer of the fibrous tissue.
Lime and sand infiltrate into the second and third supporting layers and become latent dirt, constantly damaging carpet fibers.
Carpets are constantly rubbed, stains and dirt will be buried deeper and deeper.
B. Classification of carpet stains and dirt:
A. Water-based and dry stains and dirt
Most carpet stains belong to water-based and dry substances, including dust, sand grains, starch, soft drinks, tea juice and fruit juice, accounting for 80-85% of all stains and dirt. Especially fine dust, work and life exfoliates, mostly adhere to the carpet surface. Larger dirt particles will slip into the supporting layer.
B. Oil-based stains, dirt (including animal and vegetable oils, cosmetics, shoe polish, ballpoint pen oil, etc.).
C. Protein-based stains and dirt (including blood, vomit, urine and food) account for about 15/20% of the total.
(2) Treatment of specific carpet stains in use
Methods of removing common stains on carpets:
Edible oil stains: use gasoline or carbon tetrachloride and other volatile solvents to remove, residual parts to be cleaned with alcohol.
Soy sauce stain: The new stain can be removed by brushing with cold water and washing with detergent. Aging stains can be added with warm water detergent and detergent
